UCSB Directory Service

Netpoint User Manager

Intro
The netpoint User Manager works like the old directory web site. You login with your UCSBnetID and password, search for people, click on their name, view their directory account, and modify their information if necessary. Any changes you make in netpoint will be reflected at the UCSB directory web site. It's all the same data.

Log in to netpoint by clicking HERE and choose User Manager

Remember, even though there may be no changes to a person's listing, you should still review their preferred email address and check if they meet the minimum requirements for printing.

Whats New
The Dept Code Edit field in your account shows the department codes of the people you can edit in netpoint. For example, if you're Dept Code Edit field contains the LING department code, you can edit employees that have a home or appointed department code of LING. You can also look at other DDE's and see what department codes have been assigned to them.

Modifying a person's account shows instantly the changes you have made. You can also click cancel instead of save to exit modify.

DDE's can see the UCSBnetID of the people they can edit. Simply scroll down to the bottom of a person listing in Netpoint to see their UCSBnetID. This is helpful when someone in your department has forgotten their UCSBnetID.

A web site field has been added.

An employee type field has been added. Once populated you can use it in searches. Administrators are directors and up.

Mail codes have been added and show in searches.

Clicking on "My Identity" shows you your directory account.

Reports > View Predefined Reports
There are some reports set up to help you in your work. They also can be exported with a file extension of .csv and opened in excel for example. If you can think of another report that is useful, let me know by sending an email to directoryhelp@isc.ucsb.edu.
